Hammond has been producing Output Transformer for over 75 years and are constantly improving their performance. The reason for their survival over the years is their excellent designs and their long life and maximum versatility. All Hammond Output Transformers are built to and tested at a Hi-Pot rating of 2,000 VAC RMS.

All of Hammond Output Transformer are of El laminated design, and their outstanding high frequency performance is done by the use of interleaved winding between the primary and secondary. These windings, on a Hammond Output Transformer are machine wound with high quality copper wire. The interleaved secondaries are wound to match to 4,8, or 16 ohm load impedances. The primaries of each Hammond Output Transformer include Ultra-Linear taps at the 40% point.

All models of Hammond output transformers are "ear tested" after passing their extensive testing so it sounds good from classical music to rock and roll.  Not only does these output transformer sound good, but also they pay close attention to the look of their units. All of their units are manufactured with high grade laminations and varnished and oven baked to ensure quiet operation. 

Hammond Output Transformer come in Single Ended Output Transformer and Push Pull Output Transformers. Below you will find a brief description of both types.

 Hammond Single Ended Output Transformers

Hammond Single Ended Output Transformers are available in 25-75 watt models. They are designed for maximum versatility and are used in both triode or pentode operation -class A operation.

Hammond Output Transformers use high quality M6 grade, silicon steel for the lamination iron. This provides you with the lowest possible distortion at bass frequencies. A core cap ensures against core saturation at full ratings. For restoring older equipment or you do not need it for hi-fi rating use the single ended audio output transformer available in 3-25 watt models.

These Hammond Output Transformer are made for maximum versatility. All units include an optional use of a 40% screen tap for ultra-linear operations. Hammond push pull output transformers are available in 10-280 watt models. Hammond has added a new series of epoxy potted series for the ultimate in Hammond Output Transformers.
